How to qualify for the Walmart Scholarship program

To qualify for the Walmart Scholarship, you will need to satisfy a number of criteria although for the different scholarship programs, the requirements may vary a little. In general, if you want to apply for the Walmart scholarship as a high school leaver, you will need to meet the following entry requirements.

First and foremost, to be eligible for the Walmart Scholarship, you will need to be a citizen of the United States. If you are not an American, you can still apply for the scholarship program provided that you prove you are a permanent resident of the United States.

To qualify for the Walmart Scholarship program, you should be a free agent in the sense that you cannot have anything to do with Walmart. If you are an employee at Walmart then you cannot apply for the scholarship programs awarded by the Walmart Institute.

You must be a school leaver to be able to compete for the Walmart scholarship. This basically means that a mature student is not eligible.

As we mentioned above, the Walmart scholarship rewards academic excellence like is the case with most of the scholarship programs we know of so to qualify for the scholarship, you will need to demonstrate a cumulative grade average of at the very least 2.5 on a 4 point scale. You will also be required to take the ACT test or else the SAT test before enrolment.

Last but not least, the Walmart scholarship program is meant for students who are planning to enroll on degree courses in U.S accredited institutions only.
